Privacy Policy

OneLevelHigher is a browser extension and companion website that helps you evaluate how trustworthy a product's reviews are before you buy. This page explains what data the extension and website handle, and why.

The extension

What it reads

When you're on an Amazon product page, the extension reads information that's already visible to you in your own browser — star rating breakdown, review count, seller information, price, and (for Premium users) a sample of review text and dates from that same product's review page. This all happens locally, using your own logged-in Amazon session, the same way scrolling and clicking around the page yourself would work.

What it sends, and to whom

• To our server (onelevelhigher.com): if you're a Premium user, your license key is sent to check whether your subscription is active. Nothing about which products you're viewing, what scores you've seen, or your Amazon activity is sent to us.
• To Amazon: the extension may fetch an additional review-sample page from Amazon (for Premium signal checks), using your existing browser session — no different from you visiting that page yourself.

We do not collect, store, or sell your browsing history, the products you view, or your Amazon account information.

What's stored locally

Your license key (if you're Premium) and a short-lived cache of your subscription status are stored in Chrome's local extension storage, on your own device. This is never transmitted anywhere except the license check described above.

The website

If you create an account (only required for Premium), we store your email address, a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password), and your Stripe customer/subscription IDs so we can verify your billing status. Payment details themselves (card numbers, etc.) are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store your card information.

Third parties

• Stripe processes payments and manages subscriptions. See Stripe's privacy policy.
• Amazon — the extension reads publicly visible page content from amazon.com and related domains, using your own browser session.

Your choices

• You can remove your license key at any time from the extension popup, which stops any communication with our server.
• You can uninstall the extension at any time via chrome://extensions, which removes all locally stored data immediately.
• You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account dashboard's billing portal.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a material way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
